Girls Night

A couple of months ago the girls beat the boys in a game of Cranium, it was decided that the winner of the game would get to have the fist girls or guys night of the Life Group and us girls had a great time! We headed out to a fun evening at Spoons Cafe in Downtown McKinney. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and dessert and walked around the square enjoying all the live music, such a great time we can't wait to get out again.

Lesly got us these cute flower rings so naturally we had to get a picture!

Golf

Last weekend we had a double date with our friends the Feo's, we had a great time! The weekend started out at Top Golf (where we just had dinner do to the 3 hour wait) and they then invited us to the Byron Nelson on Sunday. We had a great time and who knew I would like golf? I think come this fall, I would like to take some lessons. I would be a fall/spring golfer...it's too hot in the summer!

Diaper Cake

So I have made a couple of diaper cakes in my life, and I have made the best one yet. We threw a baby shower for my co-worker, and I made the diaper cake. I'm considering making them and selling them (maybe along with the pillowcase dresses). What do you think?

I don't have them in this picture, but I added little pink booties to the top of the flower.

Turning 26

Well I am now on the downhill track to 30 :) I heard it said a couple of times on my birthday that I am now closer to 30 than 20, then my husband informed me I am closer to 50 than 0. But don't worry, my birthday was not a depressing event, I actually had a wonderful fun filled weekend with family and friends. And yes, I said weekend not day.

The day started out with cinnamon rolls and a beautiful gift from my hubby, he had our wedding pictured made into a leather bound flush mounted album, it is absolutely beautiful...he did good.

That evening we headed out to church and then went to dinner at Macaroni Grill with some of a great friends. It was a good time, but sadly there are no pictures to follow.

Saturday night was the big event...we had been working hard all day on a church service project, but I knew Drew had surprise plans for the evening (but I didn't know how big). I knew we were going to be outside, so I knew how to dress. When we were staying in our town and headed toward the mall, I knew that we were headed to our minor league baseball stadium. I was thinking "This will be fun, the weather is perfect, and we haven't been to a baseball game in a while." Not long after we sat down in our seats, our good friends the Goodwyn's came by and I thought, "Random, but they're big baseball fans so I can see that they would come to the game." UNTIL my friend Mindy came by and said "hey!" Then the surprise was out. Drew and been planning for 2 months to get all our friends out to the game and surprise me and man did they ever. He had 12 of our great friends come out to the game and surprise me. We had a wonderful time. Here's a picture of the girls.

On Sunday we went to Babes for dinner with my family, one word yumilicious! We headed to my parents for cake and presents and my mom made me a delicious strawberry and lemonade cake (thanks pinterest)!

My wonderful in-laws had a beautiful gift basket for me complete with a bottle of wine, gift cards, a wine topper, a cute shirt, and candle holders.

I completed my 3 day weekend with getting a birthday pedi with my mom and going to see The Lucky One.

Like I said early it was a GREAT weekend!

I'm Back!

It's been awhile...a month to be more accurate. But don't worry, although I have dropped the ball in the Blogging woerld, I have still kept of with reading everyone's Blogs.

I know that I have posted about Pinterest before and I have made quite a few recipes from Pinterest, but I have finally been creative! I have taken some of those ideas and put them into action for my own home, and I think they turned out great!

First things first, I bought these plain black candle holders from Hobby Lobby (half off of course) and fixed 'em up a bit using a little paint and some sand paper. (There's a third candle holder, but I had already painted it by the time I remembered to take a picture).

What do you think? I think they turned out great, just the way I wanted.

I got this next idea on Pinterest of course, here is the original, where I got my idea. It was super easy all you need is a wood letter, some hot glue, twine, ribbon, and fabric flowers.

I am also really pleased with the way it turned out! I'm looking forward to summer break so I can get some more craft things done for our house!
