The big 3-oh!

how far along? 30 weeks
how are you measuring? Baby G is on track and an estimated 3 pounder
size of baby? Size of a cucumber
heartbeat? 150 BPM at our last appointment
total weight gain/loss? 0
maternity clothes? All the way
stretch marks? A few
sleep? I feel like a toss and turn all night long. I am starting to get cramps in my legs and hips, I finally have maternity pillow which has helped 1.ensure that I sleep on my sides and 2. have something to keep my legs elevated. My doctor recommended a calcium supplement, so hopefully that will help with the leg craps, but my hips are constantly falling asleep under the extra belly weight.
best moment this week? I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing week off for spring break. I was well rested, able to make dinner, and keep  the house clean (it was sooo nice)! My favorite moment by far though was getting to have lunch with Drew each day!
movement? Yes, I feel like it is all day long now whenever I am still...I think I have an acrobat in here.
food cravings? I still don't have a lot of cravings, but if one thing does consistently sound good, it is chocolate shakes.
gender predictions? We will find out May 26th!
what i miss? Cleaning and being on my feet without lower back pain.
what i'm looking forward to? Drew and I have a couple courses coming up at the hospital and I'm looking forward to learning new things and anticipating the arrival of Baby G.
how are you feeling? I feel good, but I am loosing energy. I am definitely tired by the end of the day!

5 on Friday

My five favorite things right now

1. Spa water a.k.a homemade vitamin water. I really love water with a little extra natural flavor. I like to add sliced strawberries and lime to a pitcher and fill it with water. I wait for the flavor to infuse in the water and then enjoy!

2. Spinach salad with homemade balsamic vinaigrette. I like to mix it up, but the basics are spinach, cheese, nuts, craisens, chopped fuit...yum!

1/4 C. balsamic vinigar
1/2 C. extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbs. dijon mustard
1 clove of garlic smashed
brown sugar to taste
fresh ground pepper
Shake and enjoy on salad.

3. A Woman and Her God by Beth Moore. It has been a very good read that has given me a lot of insight to my personality and where to find true joy.

4. Extra virgin coconut oil- oh so many possibilities...I love to use it in the shower as body wash/moisturizer and face wash. It's also great for stretch marks and as my belly gets bigger I'm loving that!

5. Sparkly Green Earrings by Melanie Shankle...it is her funny stories of parenting. I really enjoyed the book, she has another book The Antelope in the Living Room about marriage. Check her out, she is the author of the big mamma blog.

Then & Now

It was time for a much needed hair cut, I had it cut last in October. I think 5 months is far over due for a trim, cut, or anything else you can do to your hair.

Here is the before picture...

And the after...

It's amazing how a cut can completely change the way you look and feel. I look at the before picture and think my face looks really round, but with the new do my face is framed nicely and has a much better shape. Plus, my hair feels healthy again!

29 Weeks

how far along? 29 weeks
how are you measuring? Right on track
size of baby? Size of an acorn squash
heartbeat? 150 BPM
total weight gain/loss? -2 Ibs.
maternity clothes? All the way
stretch marks? A few
sleep? I toss and turn, I guess I'm just preparing for the days ahead. I also have to get up about twice to go to the bathroom.
best moment this week? It's SPRING BREAK!!! And, we had our first class and although it freaked me out a little, it made things more exciting too, each day it's getting more and more real that we will be parents...crazy!
movement? Yes, especially at night when I first lay down.
food cravings? I'm back on a fruit kick, I've also been making spinach salads with strawberries, almonds, cheese, grapes, and blackberries with balsamic vinaigrette (yum, yum)!
gender predictions? We will find out May 26th!
what i miss? Since the weather is starting to get nice out, Drew and I would sit on our back patio in the evenings with a drink and just chat and relax. We can still do that it's just my beverage of choice is a little different...maybe I can try a mojito without the rum :)
what i'm looking forward to? A week of relaxing around the house and lunch dates with my sweet hubby!
how are you feeling? Overall, pretty dang good. I've just noticed that cleaning is getting more difficult (shucks), bending over or vacuuming/mopping really makes my lower back hurt. I'm thankful that I have a hubby who helps out a bunch!

28 Weeks

how far along? 28 weeks
how are you measuring? Right on track
size of baby? Size of an eggplant
heartbeat? We will hear it again at our appointment week
total weight gain/loss? -1 Ibs.
maternity clothes? All the way
stretch marks? A few
sleep? I felt so rested this weekend; I finally got to sleep in. Usually on the weekends I have been waking up by 8 or 8:30 and you may be thinking gee that is sleeping in, not for me I got to stay in bed asleep until 11 on Saturday, it was glorious!
best moment this week? Here in Dallas we had one of our "snow" days, and school was cancelled. It was so nice to have an extra day to sleep in, have lunch with my hubby, and start to get the nursery organized.
movement? Yes, especially at night when I first lay down. This last weekend though, I found myself overall pretty lazy and I felt a lot of movement just because I wasn't up rocking the baby to sleep.
food cravings? I had my first official craving on Sunday I wanted chocolate munchkins from Dunkin Donuts, but unfortunately they were a let down as they had a weird garlic flavor :/
gender predictions? We will find out May 26th!
what i miss? Eating pasta and pizza or any tomato based product and it not resulting in hearburn. I love pasta and pizza and salsa (hello I live in Texas), but I don't eat it too often since it leaves me desiring chalky tums for dessert.
what i'm looking forward to? Our upcoming appointment next week and getting to see baby G, I always love getting a peek into his or her life, and we begin the every 2 week appointments...time is flying by!
how are you feeling? Overall, pretty dang good. I've just noticed that lately after I eat my stomach has been getting upset, but it goes away about an hour later especially if I'm sitting around doing nothing (rarely happens)
