Good Eats!

I've always been a comfort eater and I have now found the ultimate comfort eater blog...The Pioneer Woman. She is amazing and her food is so good. I have only tried a few things so far, some side items. But the few things I have tried have been AMAZING...

The Eggberts Sunriser:
Now, I did not make this exact recipe, but I used the ingredients I had on hand and made something very similar to this.

Roasted Garlic with New Potatoes
These pictures are from her site

These are the only recipes currently that comes to mind...but I have lists made out of food that I want to try from her blog...check it out, I know that husbands will be blissfully happy after the many meals you make of hers!
She also has a cook book that I can't wait to get my hands on called, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl, by Ree Drummond.

Mini Biscuit Pizzas

So last weekend I was reading a friends blog and she had made these super easy tasty pizzas. I think they will be a regular staple in our house. Using the biscuits is pure genius...I am going to rant on and on about the buttery flakiness of the biscuit and the amazing flavor it adds to the pizza, you should definitely try it!

Check the recipe out here:

p.s. I like mine with just cheese and sometimes pepperoni...but of course you can put anything you like on them!

Did You Know?

Did you know that Texas is home to the second largest canyon in the nation? It is about 25 miles from Amarillo. Drew and I went to Amarillo at the beginning of the week because he had some business there. We decided to take and afternoon and check out the canyon and it was awesome...Welcome to Palo Duro Canyon!

Thank you...a couple days late

This is a picture of our good friends Russ and Claire. I just wanted to say thank you to couples like them everywhere.

Claire spent this last Saturday and many other holidays without her husband. I want to say thank you to Claire and wives like her everywhere that stand strong while their husbands are away for months at a time.

Russ spent this fourth of July fighting in the Middle East for the rights and the freedoms we have here in America. Thank you Russ and to the men and women who fight along side him for protecting us and fighting for our nation and beliefs.

Lord, I pray that you watch over and keep these men and women safe. Hold them in your hands and protect them and bring them home safely. Thank you for giving them the passion to defend our nation.

Shenanigans on the 4th...and a couple other days too!

This weekend we headed out to Cedar Creek Lake to enjoy some good times... We enjoyed great family times, boating on the lake, and yummy food. What more could you aske for. Here is a photo album of our weekend. Seriously, I took a lot of pictures be prepared!

The star of the show...our niece Ashlyn. As you can see she is incredibly camera shy!

Some of the group swimming in the lake...unfortunately Brandon left his silly hook'ems in the picture. We have Ashlyn, Kristi (Drew's sister), Tim (Drew's brother), and Brandon (Kristi's Husband)

The Gardner boys getting the boat ready.

Mamma and baby (Kristi and Ashlyn)

Ashlyn loves to play with her uncle Ben
She loves to chill with her uncle Tim

Me lovin' on Ashlyn
and playing a little too!

once again posing for the camera in her fourth of July wear!

The gang all together at lunch, minus me...somebody had to take the picture. And fortunately I got Brandon to get rid of his silly long horn fingers!

Ben and Mikaela

Ben wakeboarding...I had some closer shots of him, but I likes the background in this one better.

Flash off...now you can actually see the sunset

Me trying to be artistic...p.s. the fireworks around the lake were AMAZING!

This picture would have been cooler if I was smiling and not screaming because the sparks were burning me.

Thankful Thursday

Currently I am very thankful for my Roomba, his name is Nigel. And yes I did name him...I found it fitting. He makes my life so much easier. He is great for hard surfaces, on carpet he's ok but his best work is on tile and wood floors. Each day I hit the clean button and he's off circling the house. Now normally I would not vacuum this much but there is a culprit...

Dear sweet Buttercup...she looks so innocent doesn't she? Don't let that short hair fool you. It comes and goes, mostly goes. Everyday our floors are covered in white Buttercup fur, so I have to say thanks to Nigel. Because of him I don't have to lug out the vacuum or broom everyday to clean up fur bunnies. I just turn on Nigel and he does the work for me and I can focus on getting other things done...like dinner!
If you are looking into getting a Roomba I suggest checking out woot.com they sell one item per day, and everyday it is something different, and they are at reduced prices. Every once in a while the put the Roomba on for a pretty good deal...check it out!
