Baby registry

Moms, I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the items that are "required" for a little bitty person, and I need your help. I have attached Buy Buy Baby's  registry checklist. I know that there are necessary items on the list and items that don't get used. Please help me out, what items did you find were invaluable and which items did you receive that you could have done without.

Also, what are your top 5 must have items?

And...Which do you prefer?
  • diapers
  • bottles
  • breast pump
  • monitor
  • car seat

Hey Girl!
Major congrats on baby Gardner! Such an amazing blessing and I'm so excited for y'all.

Just an opinion on some baby essentials that we used & loved:
-Breast pump - Medela
-Bottles - Avent
-Diapers - pampers(huggies leaked)
-Diaper rash ointment - boudreaux's butt paste
-boppy nursing pillow
-humidifier
-bumbo floor seat
-baby bath seat
-GRACO stroller
-GRACO car seats
-a swing or a bouncer
-a pack'n play(portable playpen)
-a nipple shield (saves the ladies when nursing)
-a highchair
-baby carrier/sling(bjorn)
-baby care: thermometer, nail clippers, nasal aspirator, orajel teething meds, infant tylenol, gas drops, gripe water)
-a mobile or sound machine(white noise)
-waterproof mattress pads
-arm & hammer diaper pail
(crib, mattress, changing table, diaper bag, onesies...all that stuff's a given & just personal preference).

Things we had & hated:
-Ventaire bottles(leaked)
-Evenflo bottles(leaked)
-Lorex monitor(many issues)
-Sophie the giraffe teether
-car seat mirrors(made our kids car sick)
-wipe warmer

Anyways, hope that helps narrow down the search for necessities. y'all have fun lookin' around for baby items! Can't wait to see pictures!

Congrats on the new baby on its way!!
Here our my top five must haves-
**Breast feeding pillow (I used both the breast friend and boppy)If your baby is tiny the breast friend will work better.
**nursing cover
**sleep n play rocker by fisher price (our babies slept in this the fist 3 months by our bed and it was so light and easy we could take it to grandmas or family events with ease).
**water proof mattress pad for the baby and YOUR bed! Make sure you put one on your bed too. The baby will pee, spit up, etc... and you will be glad you had one on your mattress.
**Fully stocked up diapers---pampers is my favorite but those can be pricey so we buy target/walmart....not bad quality either.
We use Chicco for our car seat and strollers. We do not really use bottles. But I will advocate for medela pump. I used a advent pump for Jaythan when we went on dates (not impressed) and got a Medela for Jolton while he was in hospital so long. I used the Medela pump every 3 hours for about 19 days and its worked GREAT! If you are going back to work its worth the investment. If you are staying home then I would just get a simple pump and use it when needed to go out on a date.

Have fun!!! Babies are such a blessing and they that lots of energy :)
